The project aims to promote gender equality in the construction sector by addressing stereotypes and improving the representation and career progression of women through vocational education and training (VET).
Specific objectives:
- To develop educational tools that challenge gender stereotypes in construction.
- To support women in accessing and progressing within the sector.
- To equip VET educators with resources to make construction more attractive to women.
- To raise awareness of equality rights and opportunities.
FemCon focuses on tackling the underrepresentation of women in construction by improving the sector’s image and supporting female career development. It uses VET as a driver for change, empowering educators and industry actors to foster a more inclusive environment. The project promotes visibility, skills development and awareness, targeting both women already working in the sector and those considering entering it.
Key outputs include an inclusion toolkit, an open educational curriculum, and a collection of good practice case studies. It also develops an online platform and course, alongside action plans to support companies in improving inclusion and diversity.
