Industrial Informatics & Robotics (Master)

As industrial computer scientists, students will play a central role in the industrial landscape with their ability to combine various technical disciplines. They will acquire an in-depth understanding of the applications of computer science and information technologies, software and systems engineering as well as mechatronics and robotics in an industrial environment or for the implementation of smart everyday systems. The specialist skills they acquire will become the driving force behind efficient, networked and intelligent innovations.

Design & Product Management (Master)

Nowadays, highly saturated consumer goods markets and increasing consumer needs present companies with very special challenges. The answer to this, however, is thoughtful design and sustainable product management. In the Master’s degree in Design & Product Management, students deepen their skills as a leader in the forward-looking field of circular design.

AI for Sustainable Technologies (Master)

Artificial Intelligence and Data Science are technologies that permeate almost every aspect of life and work, becoming indispensable. With the Master’s programme in AI for Sustainable Technologies, students will become responsible shapers of a future where AI supports people in a sustainable manner. In the programme, they will focus on the two central concepts of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ and ‘Sustainable Technology Development’ and learn to combine their technical competencies in Data Science and Software Engineering with their skills in designing and discussing Sustainable AI.

Design & Product Management (Bachelor)

An eye for aesthetics and a sense of functionality: nowadays, the requirements for modern design are tougher than ever. Art often finds itself harmonising design requirements and technical conditions, as well as the economic and ecological requirements of today’s global world. The result: exceptional products that not only flatter the eye but also come with the utmost ease of use. In the Design & Product Management Bachelor’s degree, students will learn how to bring all of these challenging points together and become a sought-after specialist.

Degree in Data Science for Management

The degree in Data Science for Management is a degree that develops essential competences in today’s information society and that allows us to gain a significant understanding of business through the study of data. This degree, with a multidisciplinary approach, combines principles and practices in the areas of technology, information systems, statistics, artificial intelligence and computer engineering to investigate a large volume of data (Big Data), the analysis of which helps to ask and answer questions such as What happened? Why did it happen? What is likely to happen? What can we do with the results?

Degree in Environmental Engineering

The sustainability of the planet requires professionals trained to respond to the transformations imposed by climate change, water and energy scarcity and the protection of biodiversity. At NOVA FCT, the Degree in Environmental Engineering prepares engineers to create innovative solutions that promote a balance between human progress and the sustainability of the planet.

Civil locksmith

Short-term unit aimed at executing, assembling and repairing metal structures, window frames and other non-structural metal elements, in accordance with technical specifications and respecting the rules of safety and hygiene at work.

Forest resources

Preparing and carrying out activities inherent to forest management and forest fire defence, namely fuel management, maintenance and improvement of infrastructures, maintenance and protection of rural areas, respecting health and safety standards at work and environmental protection, participating and interacting as part of a team.

Postgraduate Course in Sustainable Architecture

The Postgraduate Course in Sustainable Architecture is a joint initiative born out of the collaboration between ESCOLA SUPERIOR ARTÍSTICA DO PORTO and CRITICAL CONCRETE, with the aim of providing training capable of responding to pressing contemporary challenges, namely the need to adopt sustainable and accessible construction solutions.

Degree in Computer Science

The Degree in Computer Science (LCC) is a 3-year 1st cycle university programme, which has been running since 2006/07. It is characterised by teaching a rigorous vision of computing, with a solid mathematical foundation that is recognised nationally and internationally. The structure of the course includes a broad scientific base, enabling graduates to lead a full professional life with the skills required for the harmonious development of robust, quality computer applications and their integration into appropriate technological platforms.
