Green Engineering (Bachelor)

Description

The Green Engineering degree program, which is subject to approval by AQ Austria and is scheduled to be offered for the first time in the 2026/27 academic year, is a part-time bachelor's degree program. It comprises six semesters, with classes held every Thursday and Friday.
The program combines engineering fundamentals with business management know-how and a deep understanding of ecological interrelationships. The program is practice-oriented, allowing students to consolidate their knowledge through professional internships and practical examples from industry.
The focus is on sustainable process engineering and circular economy. Students can specialize in one of these areas starting in the third semester.
In the course of sustainable process engineering, students learn about topics such as Industry 4.0, advanced modelling, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, smart factories, and more. Fundamentally, this specialization aims to minimize the harmful environmental impact of products and processes throughout their entire life cycle.
In circular economy, students learn about topics such as sustainable manufacturing methods, supply chain management, sustainable marketing and market research, (re)manufacturing, reverse engineering, and more. This specialization takes a holistic approach to the management of business processes and systems with a focus on ecological sustainability and minimizing negative impacts on the environment.
