Digital Competences for Smart and Sustainable Furniture Manufacturing (FITT-NESS project)

Description

FITT-NESS connects four regional innovation ecosystems in the furniture sector – Lombardy (Italy), Murcia (Spain), Northern Portugal and Sicily (Italy) – to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation. Centred on promoting smart homes and inclusive environments, the project strengthens inter-regional partnerships and opens up new business opportunities.

This module is part of the FITT-NESS Train-the-Trainer programme, aimed at upskilling trainers and professionals in the furniture and habitat industries in the field of digital transformation. The resource provides an in-depth introduction to key digital technologies such as Industry 4.0 concepts, automation, data-driven production, smart manufacturing systems, digital quality control and advanced monitoring tools, which are reshaping the furniture and wood-based sectors.

The training materials include structured theoretical content, practical examples, case studies and visual elements. It is designed to strengthen trainers’ capacity to integrate digital competences or strategies in their companies.
